Privacy policy
for the Wichtelmorgen app and the website wichtelmorgen.de · Last updated: October 2026
This is a translation of our German privacy policy. In case of doubt, the German version applies.
1. Who is responsible?
Alvona Living GmbH, Goethestraße 7, 19322 Wittenberge, Germany, represented by its managing director Bastian Wittenburg, email: hallo@wichtelmorgen.de.
2. The essentials
- The app doesn’t need an account. Your child’s and your elf’s names, your plan and your settings are stored only on your device. We never receive them.
- The app contains no ads and no advertising trackers.
- Purchases of the full version are handled by Apple or Google. We don’t receive any payment details.
3. The app
Storage on your device
Your plan, names, settings and the PDF files you create are kept in the app’s storage on your device. They are not sent to us. If you delete the app, this data is deleted.
Language and paper size
To show the app in the right language and pick the usual paper size, the app reads the language and region setting of your device. This happens only on your device; the setting is not sent to us.
Reminders
If you switch on “Evening reminder”, the app schedules local notifications on your device. Your device asks for permission. No data is sent to us or to any notification service.
In-app purchase
You buy the full version through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google is the contractual partner for the payment, and their privacy policies apply. To check whether a purchase exists and to restore purchases, we use the service of RevenueCat, Inc., 1032 E Brandon Blvd #3003, Brandon, FL 33511, USA. This involves a randomly generated, anonymous app ID, the purchase receipts from Apple or Google, the country and technical device data (operating system, app version). Neither we nor RevenueCat receive names, email addresses or payment details from us. The legal basis is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with RevenueCat; transfers to the USA are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Ratings and recommending
The app may show Apple’s or Google’s rating dialog no more than twice. You submit a rating directly to Apple or Google; we receive no data about you. If you tap “Recommend Wichtelmorgen”, your device’s share menu opens with a link to wichtelmorgen.de. We don’t learn whom you send it to.
Links from the app
Help, privacy policy and legal notice open in your device’s browser. The information about the website applies then (section 4).
4. The website
The website is delivered via Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, date and time, the page requested and your browser type, in order to deliver the page and protect it against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We have a data processing agreement with Cloudflare (part of Cloudflare’s terms of service). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; transfers to the USA are based on it (Art. 45 GDPR).
The website uses no visitor statistics, no advertising or analytics services and sets no cookies. Fonts are loaded from our own server, not from Google or other providers.
5. Contact by email
If you write to us, we process your email address and your message in order to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR), and delete them once your request has been dealt with and no retention obligations apply.
6. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, write to hallo@wichtelmorgen.de.
You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Brandenburg data protection commissioner (Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg, Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany), or the authority in your own country. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
7. Having your data deleted
You don’t need an account for Wichtelmorgen. This is how your data is deleted:
- Data on your device (names, plan, settings, PDFs): delete the app. This removes the data completely. We never received it.
- Purchase data at RevenueCat (anonymous app ID and purchase receipt): send an email to hallo@wichtelmorgen.de with the subject “Delete Wichtelmorgen” and include the order number from Google’s purchase confirmation (it starts with “GPA.”) or from Apple’s. We delete the entry within 30 days and confirm the deletion to you.
After that, a purchase can only be linked again via “Restore purchases”. The purchase itself and the payment details are managed by Google or Apple, and their retention periods apply. We keep no data that could identify you personally.
8. Children
Wichtelmorgen is made for parents. The app collects no data about children; first names you enter stay on the device.
